{THE PASSION BEHIND THE WORK}
.......................................................................................................................................
A Midwestern native, I began honing and creating my unique art and style soon
after I relocated to the Southwest. The beautiful desert terrain and complex geometric
Native American designs inspired me to create my one-of-a-kind glass pieces.
The translucent qualities of glass, combined with vibrant color and light, create a limitless
palette of color—color that can influence moods in an empowering way. And because the
pieces are see-through like stained glass windows, your skin becomes part of the art which
in turn makes YOU part of the jewelry. Every woman who wears a Curious Glass Design’s piece
has an opportunity to see through these “windows” into who they are, to be empowered by
that glimpse of spirit, desires and dreams. There’s a beautiful symmetry that takes place
between spirit and soul.
I take much of my inspiration anywhere from urban cityscapes to desert waterholes—from the
diverse Southwestern wildlife to brilliant sunsets. This allows my hand-painted jewelry to take
on an organic quality—one that is rarely found in jewelry.
The spiral that flows from each handmade piece represents life. It symbolizes the conduit
through which physical and spiritual energy flows.
I strongly believe in supporting this energy cycle by giving back to the community. I have been
involved with ChildHelp USA®, the McKenzie Monks Foundation—which is committed to the help
and support of individual children coping with cancer—and the AIGA Art Auction benefitting the
art programs of Free Arts of Arizona.
I have also designed a signature piece for Skye Dyer—daughter of Dr. Wayne Dyer who is an
internationally renowned author and speaker in the field of self-development. This unique jewelry
creation was personally delivered to Dr. Dyer during his 2006 “Inspiration Lecture Tour” in San Diego, CA.
In addition to participating in the First Friday Art Walk in Phoenix, I was also a featured guest on
News Channel 3 in Phoenix, Arizona.
